Pros
I was so grateful when app gigs like Postmates, became available. The flexibility it offered was really amazing because you can literally turn it on and off whenever you needed to work (at one point, in L.A., it was available 24/7). Also during the late hours (between midnight-6am or 7am, I think...can’t remember) , the pay increased to 1.5x + tips. Unfortunately, they changed things up and no longer offer peak pay during those hours. :( So, out of my few years working with Postmates, most of that time was spent in Los Angeles, CA and a little bit of that time was in Asheville, NC. I brought this up because I noticed a significant difference in my pay. I’ve got to admit that I was paid much better when I was in L.A. and that was solely due to the bigger tip amounts. I still got tips in Asheville but they were much bigger tip outs in L.A. Just saying...And that wasn’t a reflection of Postmates at all. I

The only thing I can think of is how at one point, they stopped offering a surge payout amount during the late hours. I felt like I liked having those set hours (from midnight- 6am, or whatever) instead of these short bursts that are dependent on increased orders was so much better. Let the people who want to put in the work during those hours get better pay. But I guess it all places get many orders during late hours.
