Pros

When I first interviewed at Power, I was admittedly a little skeptical. I had had a previous marketing job that didn't end well. The company wasn't very structured, and after only a few months of working there, the company folded and moved, leaving myself and around 40 others jobless. I was hesitant to jump into another door-to-door type marketing job, and I said as much to my interviewers. They assured me that this experience would be much different than my last. I took a leap of faith, and accepted the position. Three years later, I couldn't be happier that I did. Initially, I was looking for a place where I could grow. I've been promoted twice since. I was looking for a place where I would receive fair compensation for my hard work. I earned more in the past 3 years than my father. I'm 24, and had no college degree and no extensive sales experience prior to getting this job. Neither is needed to succeed here. It, like any worthy career, takes a lot of hard work, dedication, and drive. I started at the very bottom, knocking on doors, have moved up several times, and am well on my way to a very fulfilling and rewarding career here. The culture here is second to none. The morale is higher than any other place I've ever seen. Overall, Power is not even close to what I expected it to be initially, but its everything that I was looking for in a marketing career.

Cons

Sure, the schedule does get a little overwhelming at times. Yes, the work itself does get a little stressful. But what career worth anything doesn't? The pros far outweigh the cons.

Pros

The advancement opportunities are there for the taking. I've moved through different departments and experienced many aspects of the company over the past few years. In all of the departments, if you work hard and perform well, you will be rewarded generously. Regardless of your tenure at the department, if you perform well, your advancement is endless. There's always a special promotion to win, and the company does a great job of holding fun outside of work events.

Cons

The cafeteria in the building serves good food, however they close down early for someone who works late hours. Sometimes working with friends can get distracting.

Pros

You can make a ton of money if you are good with talking to people, stick to the way they teach you how to do things, and work hard. Good company culture.

Cons

You go door to door. Or you walk around talking to people at BJ's. It sucks, a lot. Also, you only bonus after meeting certain goals, such as 4+ estimates in a week, or 3 appointments in a day, or 15 in a week. Otherwise, you get a flat 500 bucks. People will slam the door in your face, and you will face a lot of rejection. It is not a fun job, and thus why I think it is not a career unless you become an executive. You work rain or shine, and they make you use your own phone to set up appointments rather than a company phone, so if it's raining, watch out. Long, LONG days, 9-10 hours. And you have to work 2 saturdays a week.
