Great place to work!

Pros

Great benefits! We are rewarded for our safety as well as maintaining a healthy lifestyle. We have a local Dr's office who is available to us without any co-pay and with less wait than a normal patient. Room for growth within all divisions. Tuition reimbursement with the encouragement to learn and grow...

Cons

It helps to know someone to get your foot in the door.

Pros

Profitable company; offers good pay and both monthly and quarterly performance incentive bonuses, 401k match, tuition assistance. Comprehensive in-house employee training and continuous safety education. Company managers and execs are accessible to all employees and create a close knit, informal family like environment, often providing rewards for meeting production and shipping goals (leather jackets, barbeque grills, camelbaks, flashlights, concert tickets and cook outs for production employees who may have to work holidays, etc). Employees are generally positve, knowledgeable and hardworking. This facility, in my opinion, is an excellent place to work. I would recommend Pratt-Shreveport to anyone - no doubt one of the best places I have ever worked. And with mills, corrugating plants and finishing plants throughout the U.S.(and steadily growing) , Pratt offers the potential for career growth.

Cons

Not necessarily "Cons", but its not all fun and games. Production and shipping employees are exposed to extreme temps. Shift work requires an employee to be available 24/7. (But any manager or supervisor will be working along with production staff) - Slackers need not apply. Managers and supervisors are tough and demanding, but willing to teach those who are willing to try.

Pros

Employees are good people to work with.

Cons

Does not see the whole picture of succession planning, growth for its employees or concerns. Too much independent and self directed plants. Not working together as a whole.
