Pros

The company is located in a wonderful area to live. The company provides excellent benefits packages and flexible working hours. There are plenty of opportunities to gain tons of experience because everyone in the company is doing the job of two or three people.

Cons

Poor middle management. The whole site is understaffed. Middle management is a "good ole boys club" and if you aren't in with them your working life can be miserable. Salary is on the lower end of the spectrum. HR at this site is nearly useless. Beware when applying for a posting that there may not actually be a job opening. There is a culture of chaos at this site and an unsustainable business model without major management change.

Pros

Tuition Reimbursement (although it is being reduced) Interesting Products Good People Training in Continuous Process Improvement Lots of Training in general

Cons

Work is being systematically shipped out of Connecticut and out of the USA Process focus can be burdensome (metrics for everything!) Reviews/Raises/Promotions seem arbitrary or based on tenure, not talent Management opinion that you must "put in your time" Outdated buildings and facilities Some middle managers are not competent in their roles

Pros

It's aerospace industry, which in itself is technical, challenging, fun, perhaps even glamorous. P&W offers potential career path development choices, if one can avoid being placed in a position or role and remaining "stuck." So, work your relationships as intelligence and performance does not in itself promote you.

Cons

Because the company is so large and complex, communication and information tend to be in silos, rather than accessible platforms conducive to sharing.
