Pros

The company is in a bit of positive upheaval due to the ACA. I'm taking a wait and see approach. The culture is positive and solid. Very people focused, and that goes for employees and customers alike.

Cons

Interdepartmental communication is poor. In house IT is the 500 pound gorilla here.

Pros

The job is stable and the work/life balance is great in some areas. I've rarely had to work OT but there are some teams which have some high priority deliverables that have to work evenings. Most of the people are super friendly.

Cons

There's little growth opportunity. It seems pretty easy to make lateral moves, but hard to make upward moves. Things move very slowly. I've learned to double and triple work estimates because of the slow pace and bureaucracy.

Pros

Company is progressive and offers great benefits, casual work environment, great work/life balance, beautiful campus, and a genuine interest in my health. There are lots of things going on to involve associates- cooking classes, informational seminars, community involvement. The company is socially responsible, financially stable, innovative, and poised for the future. Lots of perks.

Cons

Lots of bureaucracy and internal politics. Management often rewards technical prowess but not people skills or decision making; often heads quickly in the wrong direction, then spends aimlessly to correct course. Management decision making borders on absurd. Workforce is way off balance in terms of gender, favoring one gender over the other. Parking is challenging. Recruiters are over worked and non-responsive. Hiring is based solely on relationships rather than qualifications.
