Why Presidio?

Pros

Fast pace environment with some of the best engineers I’ve had the privilege to know and work with. Competitive pay if you know how to negotiate and access to the latest technology.

Cons

Career growth is most often stunned and upward mobility is based on pure favoritism. Major shift from an engineering led company to a sales organization since IPO. Teamwork is a concept on paper, in practice it’s a self serving “what have you done for me lately” culture.

Pros

25 cent vending machine and the occasional $5 Starbucks gift card! Woweeeeee. Also, you can totally cry at your desk and no one will notice as long as you keep up with profit forecasting!

Cons

Don’t expect to receive “potential” bonuses. Don’t expect a raise. However, DO expect “lateral” moves to new positions, which will require much more work and no appreciation or compensation. Beware of “unlimited PTO”. Overworked and unresponsive management. Favoritism is an issue. Going public has made Presidio too big for its britches. Not worth your time.

Pros

Customers are nice. Projects can be fun when you are given enough hours to complete them with quality.

Cons

Not given enough hours to complete a project without cutting corners. Management expects you to make it fit within the hours estimate even if it's unrealistic. If it doesn't fit, it's the engineer's fault. No raises, ever unless you threaten to leave. Bonus plan is meager. Management is incompetent. I was an engineer with a history of successful projects and happy customers, but was let go without reason. They terminated me on the last day of the month and ended my family's health insurance on the same day. They also screwed me out of my quarterly bonus that I had earned based on my billable productivity. So much for loyalty. Look elsewhere, Presidio is a sinking ship after they went public.
