Pros

- All individually owned, so some are great I'm sure - Okayish pay for childcare - As always, the children and their families are the highlight of this industry

Cons

- Individually owned, so some are not great. - Lackluster benefits (location dependent) At the one I work at, there is no health insurance, no life insurance, no vision, dental, etc. PTO is extremely sparse - Turnover is high (again location dependent) At my location, many people start and don't last very long due to poor admin support - Zero work life balance typically. They will promote a 4 day schedule in the training but you won't get it (location dependent as well) - Prestigious image =\= prestigious care. Primrose would have you believe that your child is receiving top notch care, but honestly they will hire anyone with a pulse in this industry unfortunately. I have a Bachelors degree in a completely unrelated field and did not mean to get into this industry at all. I plan to be a licensed teacher, and only got this job for a bit of experience with kids. Due to the high turnover, I ended up as a lead with way too many responsibilities and zero support. At my location, they also have started cutting hours for almost everyone.
