Working at Princeton University presents several challenges for staff and faculty, including concerns about workplace culture, pay equity, career advancement, and management practices. The university's hierarchical structure, coupled with perceived lack of support for staff, can lead to a less-than-positive work environment.

It is very sad to see the current state of this department. Managers and administration have completely failed the officers. You see a higher retention rate at a fast food restaurant than at Princeton. Dishonest, disloyal and disingenuous are the best ways to describe what it is like working here. The backstabbing and corruption in the administration is whats holding this department from greatness. Be prepared for never ending mandatory shifts as management cannot retain even the most loyal of officers. This is a scenario where all they want is for you to give, give, give and never receive anything in return. Holidays? Oh you’ll be there working… back to back 16 hour shifts? You’ll be there. All you are is a number here, not a person.
