Pros

Princeton University offers several rewarding career positions, all in an exciting and challenging work environment. I have worked in government and industry before coming to Princeton and found that none of them compare to the opportunities that exist here for working across business unit lines for the improvement of the organization. I find that my current position is fulfilling and the tasks varied enough to keep me engaged, interested, and coming back for more. The university offers a rich variety of non-work activities including world renowned speakers and presentations, great sports teams, incredible art galleries, and a world class theater.

Cons

Well, sometimes parking can be a drag, but that is pretty much true at every other college or university that I have ever visited. If you are an administrator, you must accept that this is an educational organization and your customers are professors and students. Without them, you don't have a job. I was told once that students come to princeton because of the world class professors, not the world class administrators. So, get over yourself. Because of the decentralized nature of the campus, many projects that would be straight forward in industry require a bit more negotiation. I see this as a challenge, but others are worn down by the experience.

Pros

Big name on CV so good for future prospects. Does some good science. Beautiful campus. Cheap gym. Work with bright people.

Cons

Awful salaries, even by academic standards. Professors with unlimited power to intimidate their grad students/postdocs and no HR system in place to deal with such problems. Very few personal development opportunities.
