Pros

They'll hire almost anyone Can get experience to get another job for a better company

Cons

They'll hire almost anyone They make your ETO be used on forced holidays off, and you get a 6 month write up if you don't have enough ETO. The insurance is surprisingly terrible, considering you work for the company that owns the hospitals and insurance company. For example: standard labs cost over $100 and heart echo at cardiologist office cost $350ish

Pros

There's usually overtime to work, some of the unit/middle management can be great (just all depends on the unit), variety of units to work in, Level 1 trauma center

Cons

Little room for advancement, it's the "good ol' boys club" and basically if you aren't in with the right crowd you will never be promoted, the new building is absolute junk/falling apart and you can't hear alarms (for ICU patients!!!) in the hallways, the pay is garbage compared to driving up the road to Ann Arbor, they do NOT value education or certifications and will not pay you for such (nor will they pay you extra for being per diem and not having to pay your benefits). The health insurance is awful. Some units have staff members that are extremely toxic and negative. You will become burned out working here very quickly. They wonder why everyone is leaving bedside in droves...

Pros

A lot of developing technology makes job simple and interesting, co-workers were generally fun to be around

Cons

The company only really cares about money and expansion. It's difficult to climb the ladder, they pay one of the lowest wages in the area for their positions, raises are very small and infrequent, you are disposable.
