Pros

If you're going to work for a company in Toledo, ProMedica is the place to be. Awesome atmosphere, staff, and benefits.

Cons

Promotion can be slow. The company is constantly expanding so there is a bit of unexpectedness with the future of certain positions (especially non-clinical positions).

Pros

Provide tuition assistance and reimbursement. Some room for advancement

Cons

Executives are way out of touch of business. They no longer make any logical financial decisions for the most part. Community initiatives should only be done when our business is stable and employees are taken care of, none of which are true. Employees morale is extremely low. Essentially inflationary raises with no performance incentive besides a measly $500 bonus before tax. Overall this company is being pushed beyond its financial capability and likely driving us into being bought out or to a point of selling off businesses for pennies on the dollar.

Pros

I'm proud to tell people I work for Promedica. One of the most prestigious employers in NW Ohio /SE Michigan. They give back so much to the community and thier plans to revitalize downtown are really exciting. Our CEO projects strong leadership with great corporate vision.

Cons

My specific department (500+ employees) has been through a lot of management changes from the top down and the culture has changed for the worse. Employee survey results reflect a general consensus in said opinion and yet a year has past since the last survey and no changes have been made to address the downturn in scores. There is obviously a direct correlation between the survey results and the department cultural/leadership changes over the past few years. I think a lot people in my department were hoping that the survey would be a red flag for HR and maybe even get the attention of those at the highest levels. Well, for as much time that has passed and no obvious changes in management style we have experienced a much higher turnover rate than anything I've seen in the 8+ years I have been with Promedica. A lot of talent has left and as much as we are all replaceable it's sad to see it go unnoticed or management make excuses for why. With that said, I would still highly recommend Promedica as an employer.
