Subpar pay and benefits

Pros

Close to where I live

Cons

Pay scale is not on par with other hospital systems. Policies across state lines are inconsistent. Benefits package is not competitive with other hospital systems - terrible health insurance with high out of pocket expenses - also requires use of providers in the system we work for which I think is unprofessional. High staff turnover rate. System would rather pay more for travel staff than invest in their own.

Benefits do not cover weight loss medications

Pros

Great coworkers and direct managers. Patient focused team, alot of variety in job.

Cons

Benefits could be better. Only 3% retirement match that you only get if you are with the company end of year. If you leave early, you forfiet the match for that year. Insurance does not cover weight loss meds, so if that is important to your family, heads up. Only 6 paid holidays, no personal or sick days. It's all in one ETO bucket which has it pros and cons. Wish they would increase the earned ETO more for staff who stay with the system- would be more of an incentive to stay. I can leave now and get the same amount of time off elsewhere as a new hire. Raises are very low-generally 1%- maybe. Different facilities are treated differently and have access to different perks. Some buildings do nice little celebrations and events- like the steam plant and others do nothing. Little celebration of staff/holidays from the system as a whole. Nothing done for nurses week this year. No Christmas bonus or gift.
