Pros

P&G is a great company to start your career. The experiences and knowledge by working with others is incredible and will only pay dividends for the long term (within P&G or elsewhere). There are many types of positions given the size of the company and they make sure people move around to new roles to keep fresh thinking in the organization.

Cons

P&G is a slow turtle. It takes time for career advancement and people tend to get promoted based upon "playing the system" or because P&G is trying to meet a diversity quota vs. driving business results. P&G is also very process focused creating an environment of "red tape". A common phrase on how P&G operates is "Ready, Aim, Aim, Aim, Aim, Aim........Aim again, Aim, then Fire". Given the conservative nature of the company, ideas, career progression, and business plans take awhile for execution and must be reveiwed several times for approval.

Pros

To grow, to learn, to become a professional. P&G fosters an amasing openess and readiness to share knowledge among the employees, and that's probably the best thing about this company. I work in Product Supply, and I have to say that Product Supply is really adanced here; a lot of best practices are actually introduced by P&G on the market. Among the big scale companies (not IT) P&G has probably the best Product Supply, so that's a really best place to learn it. Also P&G is a grate place to train your communication skills, as in general people are very adequate here, and it's really hard to spoil your relations forever. As a result, you learn to work in a big collective, with dozens, or even hundreds of business contacts. Which is an outstanding experience.

Cons

At least in Russia, the work/life balance is terrible. People overwork A LOT. They sit here from 9 am (sometimes from 8 am) till 8-9 pm, and some crazy people come into office even on weekends, or work from home. Both bosses and contractors do so; and all the mid-tier of workers as well (naturally). Anothing thing that isn't really ideal is the career growth speed. Theoretically, P&G is that big that you can always find a position you would like, however in practice it may need years to grow to the level you desire (even if you deserve it). A lot of people leave P&G for better work/life balance, but even more - just to jump over 1-2 levels, for a good position in another company.

Pros

A great place to get exposed to a wide variety of business models and strategies. Great place for people new to work force and early in careers. Employees get to learn how business is done. Relatively flat org structure provides surprising transparency and visibility. ie, analysts are not relegated to cubicles in the basement.... they're given the opportunity to engage in delivering the business.

Cons

P&G's strengths are also its biggest weaknesses. P&G relies so much on standard work processes, systems, vocabulary and management approaches, etc. that everyone assumes these are ubiquitous. When the systems fail or are absent, it presents a disproportionately large and cumbersome challenge. Thus, focus is on doing what we do best vs. driving new, innovative ways of doing business.
