Pros

Usually not high pressure unless you are in an ADL filled with acute patients. The clients can be amazing, most are formerly homeless and have SUD issues. Much of your time will be spent either administering medications or making "progress reports" to document interventions so that the institution gets paid by medical. Health Savings Account (HSA) is good. Union is Teamsters.

Cons

Pay is close to minimum wage for SF. No differential for overnight shifts. Depending on where and with whom you work, it could be less difficult than day shift. Union isn't very helpful in my experience.

Pros

You can get a higher pay rate by picking up a shift 24 hours ahead of time.

Cons

Sometimes you miss out on higher rates. Similar positions at other organizations offer higher pay than here.
