Pros

Many people who work here are great but they definitely leave. Union represented. Programs vary. Clients are nice

Cons

Toxic upper management culture, poor staff retention, visibly stressed/abusive program directors and minimal support for counselors. Recipe for burnout. Mandatory: 12 hour shifts, mediocre pay, overnights. V limited opportunity for advancement

Pros

I have been a proud employee of Progress Foundation for 11+ years. I have always been treated with kindness, support, and respect. The culture of the agency is one of inclusion and understanding. It is these values that allow us, as counselors, to provide our clients with truly client centered treatment. Additionally, Progress Foundation provides an unprecedented allotment of paid time off (up to 2.5+ MONTHS each year, depending on length of service). This time off allows us to take care of ourselves, which makes us better able to care for our clients. I truly love the work I do, and I couldn't imagine working for a better agency.

Cons

Shift work is hard. It's not for everyone. If you're looking for a boring 9-5, look elsewhere. But a varied schedule has it's upsides too. You just have to be creative about how you use your paid time off.

Pros

The pay is okay and the location was fine

Cons

CEO is stuck in the 70s. Clinical Director is not a clinician and should not be making clinical decisions
