Pros

-You get to help people which is pretty cool -You get a TON of PTO, even your first year, especially considering this is an entry-level position -You work in a small-ish team which can be pretty cool if you all get along (or a nightmare if you don't) -You're schedule will be weird, but usually in a good way. You'll probably have a 3-day weekend every week. -Overtime and holiday pay is a thing you can get if you want extra hours.

Cons

-You work in a small-ish team which can be a nightmare if you don't all get along -You help people, but sometimes there are tragedies along the way, and they rarely say thank you (which is strangely important to some people) -Your schedule is weird, and you might work weekends -The computer system is TERRIBLE and you will spend far too much of your time yelling at the computers because they go down frequently. You need high frustration tolerance for this job. -Lots of writing. Like... so much writing. -They WAY underpay the relief counselors, so they're a huge amount of turnover, which often means inconsistent client care and difficulty getting time off sometimes.

Pros

Location - that's about it (food wise, the streets do have poop all over them though, especially if you're waking from Bart)

Cons

Management provided 0 training - expected me to know how and where to do everything, didn't know passwords to various documents and reports I needed to access... put off helping/ interacting with us for weeks, then got mad things weren't done (that she never told us about/provided no info) Overall terrible communication between everyone. Very low security level... I had someone ask me to email someone else personal info through a sticky note a random person left on my desk when I was out.. Some employees scream at their bosses because they aren't paid on time... or at wrong location... HR hides in her office and doesn't answer/ deal with isssues HUGE turn over rate - people leave all the time, very disfunctional
