Pros

Great Employees/Coworkers Very Personable Upper Management (never experienced any form of micromanaging) Job Autonomy (!!!) Pretty Laid Back Work Environment Great Starting Point if you would like to start a career in the Auto Insurance Industry Job Security Easy Job to catch onto

Cons

DAILY WORKLOAD NO (And I cannot stress this enough) Work/Life Balance. You are given a ton of PTO time but your damned if you use it. You’ll pay for your time off with long hours, unrealistic claimloads and expectations, as well as entitled/rude customers when you come back into work. Very Metric/Stats Based Position TERRIBLE PAY (!!!) for the amount of work and stress this position entails TERRIBLE Health Insurance Coverage (Don’t even bother signing up for PPO Coverage; the provider will still restrict your coverages. And BEWARE if you have underlying health issues and NEED health coverage) You’re expected to basically do the work for 10 different roles for one position. Even if you have amazing time management skills, you’ll still be stressed out to some degree Your basically a glorified call center worker and are expected to take inbound calls inbetween your current/newly assigned workload Office Politics (if you want to be promoted - worry more about impressing/smooching to the right people; not your work performance) Because of the workload; the job becomes very monotonous and robotic VERY HIGH TURNOVER RATE (!!!) - The longer you stay in this position the more work you will be assigned due to the turnover rate

Pros

Good benefits, company had some great core values.

Cons

Overworked, underappreciated, insufficient training, staff in local branch did not follow company's core values. Very uncaring management. Workload did not match salary. On paper, this job seemed great, but it was far from it.

The Workload

Pros

The job has its benefits: good pay, good and upbeat coworkers, an ability to take time off when you’re genuinely sick or your child is sick without having to worry about your job each time. Helping people get their feet back under them after they’ve had an accident can be rewarding.

Cons

The biggest con, and everyone who works in Progressive claims will tell you this, is the workload. The workload is so far and above what any one individual should be asked to do, that it leaves you feeling horrible at the end of each day, like you didn’t get enough done. No matter how hard you work, you will always feel behind. That sense of accomplishment is unfortunately nonexistent in this job. This is true for the PCS claims role and the URBI role. Every coworker I have has expressed the same issue to me, and the anonymous surveys the company does always come back stating too heavy of a workload, and no work/life balance. While giving you this workload, leadership just continues to push “efficiency” instead of just admitting that there is too much work and too few people.

Pros

Being able to slide your shift to come in later is great.

Cons

Workload is ridiculous and they expect you to get it all done within the 8 hours… impossible.

Pros

Great company to work for...great benefits, great incentives. They hire suppportive people and that creates a great team environment.

Cons

They start most people in the claims generalist trainee position, but there is such high turnover because that is the most stressful job that exists in the company. The company has very high expectations but due to the workload and not being able to retain employees, these expectations cannot be met. When a claims associate quits, all their work gets dispersed to other claims associates and A LOT of people quit before or within their first year. The salaries for these positions are not enough for the demands placed on those in these roles. There isn't enough people to handle the workload, so people quit. They try to hold meetings about handling the stress, but until they learn how to pay their employees appropriately to the amount of work they do, they will not be able to solve this problem .
