Pros

Work life balance. Pay for effort is high. Benefits are ok.

Cons

No structure. No Ownership. No thrills. Cant run a project to save its life. Hiding hole for shammers.

Pros

Flexible schedule. Some teams are great to work with and are organized for strategic success. They organize monthly breakfast meetings to keep the staff informed.

Cons

Management needs to drink their own cool aid. They don't know a thing about managing projects. They don't know how to organize effectively. They over work the good employees and let others who are worthless hang around and do nothing. Why not replace them to create effective teams rather than resentment. They keep building more and more processes into their IT GROUP which add no value and then ask why is it taking so long. EPMO is established but you would not know it.
