Benefits do not outweigh the Cons

Pros

Benefits are great, they pay for dependents as well.

Cons

Regional Leaders play favorites and allow gossiping. It is not a professional or safe environment. Local leadership fails to follow through on company values. Feels more like high school than a workplace environment.

Hello there. It is regretful to hear that your lasting impression of Prometheus is not a flattering one. It is never our intent to make anyone feel they are in the middle of a gossip storm or condone it in anyway. Thank you for the honest feedback on how we can pay closer attention to our field teams. We hope that you have settled into a new career that feels just right. Take good care.

Pros

The company's culture is great. I really like how they focus on putting everyone on board with how we do things at Prometheus. I like how we're updated on the company's development; it makes me feel good to be with a company that strives.

Cons

Although it's great that there's a lot of opportunity for promotions, there are just some people who need to be taught leadership skills. "Micro-managing is a great way to lead a team!" said nobody ever. There are Property Managers and Assistant Property Managers... and surprisingly, fellow Leasing Specialists, who go on power trips which make it very difficult for one to stay employed with them. It's a 'do as I say, not as I do,' type of management. There's a lot of young first-time managers who don't know how to effectively lead a team and are definitely not team players. A lot of the people I work with have only work experience in retail and restaurant, and are now working in an office without any office etiquette. You'll feel like you're in middle school again instead of a professional environment. Also, you can't trust anyone here. You can't even trust Promethean Services (Human Resources). There is a lot of favoritsm involved in this company and if you open up to Promethean Services with an issue you think would be kept confidential, it'll get around before you know it and the results will be against you. I don't even think they're properly educated to be in a HR role.

Pros

Jackie the CEO is an amazing individual. Wish she knew how truly unhappy people in the field really are.

Cons

One of the most soul-crushing environments imaginable. If you’re looking for a place that drains your motivation, disrespects your intelligence, and treats employees like disposable tools—congrats, you’ve found it. •Blatant, shameless favoritism. Promotions go to the most obedient bootlickers, not the most capable people. Just work at Spruce, you’ll be handed a PFM position in no time. If you’re not part of the “Promethean Illuminati,” don’t expect to be heard, let alone respected. Make sure not to voice your concerns, that just turns into a big bright target on your back. •Senior leadership lies as easily as they breathe. They’ll gaslight you, rewrite history, and twist the truth to protect their own image, then blame you when things go wrong. •Sketchy business practices everywhere. Corners are cut constantly, laws are bent (if not outright broken), and anyone who questions it gets labeled a “problem.” •HR is a joke. Don’t expect protection or fairness, —HR exists solely to shield management and silence complaints. •Fear-based culture. People are afraid to speak up because retaliation is real. Expect backstabbing, scapegoating, and management by intimidation. The yearly survey is a bully tactic and you must answer the way the Senior Leaders want you to. When people answer truthfully, the “anonymous” survey responses somehow fall on you and your team. •Good people don’t last long—they either quit or get pushed out. What’s left is a mess of yes-men, survivors, and checked-out zombies. HR will follow up with a generic response on how they value everyone, how they would’ve listened if you came to them, they truly care, blah blah blah. Sanford would’ve never stood for this, he had a vision and the moment he was laid to rest the Senior Leadership Vultures destroyed it. Disgraceful is an understatement.

Hello, It’s tough to read that your time as a Promethean has been less than positive. While this perspective doesn’t reflect the culture we work hard to foster, we take your concerns seriously. We, too, are proud of the vision Sanford brought to Prometheus and appreciate that you felt a connection to that. Our merit-based approach to hiring and promotions directly reflects his legacy and remains a distinction we are proud of. Our policies and practices are continuously elevated to ensure they reflect both our values, legal and ethical standards. We are confident in sharing that all supporting systems in place meet those standards. You are right that many promotions have come from time spent at Spruce. As a large Neighborhood with many nuances, it is a great learning experience to build upon strengths required in advanced roles. We remain proud of our Prometheans who have taken on the responsibility of a large Neighborhood and excelled. We remain committed to building an environment where our Prometheans feel heard, respected, and supported - our Prometheans are our most prized resource. We genuinely hope that you have found a work environment that aligns more closely with your ideals, and we wish you all the best in your journey ahead.
