Leadership provides a great environment for professional growth. Management offers mentoring and guidance. The firm has a great culture that is based on a startup mentality. Employees are high caliber and very capable, which translates into quality work delivered to the client.

Cons

Hopefully the culture remains amid such growth. Managers are slowly becoming more transparent in planning future projects and involving project members early on. Also, inquire with your consultants about their desires of type of projects and frequency of travel earlier in order to find the best match.

I'll add my voice to the chorus and say that our people make the difference at Protiviti. At the most basic level, if you love who you work with, then work becomes something you look forward to. But Protiviti goes beyond that - our people drive the unique and exceptional culture at our company. From a new consultant to senior management, our people are given opportunities to take on important responsibilities that shape Protiviti. Whether it is participating in recruiting or planning an event for our i on Hunger campaign, our employees have the chance to make a difference not only within our company but also within our community.

Cons

Compensation could always be better, but that is offset by a strong vacation policy and commitment to work/life balance. I'd like to see more of a push for flexible work arrangements.

It's a boring auditing joke, don't over-glamorize it

Pros

+client exposure +breadth of industries +good reputation in the world of internal audit +decent work-life balance, other than all the travel/driving

Cons

-very political -lots of branding goes on in the office -it's sox, doing tickmarks just like a Big 4 Auditor would do. It's not the consulting the recruiter sells to college kids, just to meet their quota for recruits. -Boring, boring, boring job.
