      Protiviti : A dying "niche" player

      Pros

      Dying firm in France : more than 40% of the working forces has volontary left the firm in 2008. The drain is continuing in 2009 with the management helping it!

      Cons

      This Company is not known outside of the US and outside of the SOX field. Except some of the "Manager and above", most of the staff is "ticking auditors" with no understanding of the business of their clients. Testing for SOX jobs is NOT consulting !

      Good place to work, not quite the street credit as Big4

      Pros

      Nice to work on projects with a number of people in your age group. supportive team to teach you when you first start. For the most part, respected senior leadership - they provided good direction and generally supportive atmosphere

      Cons

      Not critically necessary in the marketplace, there's a lot of competition. theyre going thru layoffs now, so not the most stable place to work. theres no arguing with senior leadership, so if youre unhappy about something, theres not a whole lot you can do about it

      Pros

      The culture within the organization is excellent. Management promotes a professional development and diversity in client exposures. The employees within the firm are highly-skilled experts in their service line, resulting from education, certifications and client experiences.

      Cons

      The organization structure makes it difficult to support career advancement in that it is currently top-heavy. It is challenging to see a career beyond the management level because selling work is more valued than managing projects and personnel.
