      As far as consulting companies go, this one is a great place to work.

      Pros

      Work Life Balance - 4 weeks of paid time off to start, management encourages you to take it when you're not busy Defined Career Path - Promotions take place at regular intervals, if you can the experience you will be promoted, it is unheard of for someone to not be promoted within 2-4 years.

      Cons

      As part of a public company, Protiviti makes knee jerk reactions when earnings aren't met including layoffs, salary cuts and benefit reductions. Seasonal work - during the latter half of the year, everyone is pushed to put in many hours and do extra work, management does not adjust capacity accordingly

      Pros

      It gives your above average salary in comparison to similar work elsewhere an adhoc practice allows you fair amount of freedom and access to teh top management

      Cons

      No personla growth but that is a function of the market and cant blame the company for the same in other markets the company does spend a lot on employee growth

      Pros

      Given Protiviti's size, employees have a unique opportunity to participate in various capacities (e.g., methodology development, business development, project management, internal initiatives, training). Additionally, you will interact with some very good managers who respect their staff. Lastly, Protiviti does not burn-out their employees (although that may change with the cost-cutting measures taking place and the work starts to pile on the remaining employees).

      Cons

      Senior management and legacy employees tends to keep chargeable hours and relationships for themselves. This hurts junior managers and makes them expendable. Additionally, if you do not have a niche or speciality that supports what sells in the market at the time, you are vunerable. You may get piegeon-holed quickly, so make sure you identify a niche early on and pursue it aggresively.
