Pros

Protiviti does provide exposure to some great industries. Pay rate is comparable. Seem to care about what is needed to provide service to client. Appears to be a good place for a young out of college student who is able to execute and not veer off track by thinking for themselves. Following management orders to the letter is strictly adhered. Expect to be chargeable, but may have to work a lot of overtime without compensation or recognition. Be a good soldier, not questioning authority and you will be good to go. If you think you can fall in line, with this mentality go for it.

Cons

POLITICS, POLITICS, POLITICS. Not interested in hearing how to work more efficiently and effectively if Senior Management is the one who started the process. Push it out the door no matter what the cost. Not the place to be if you care more about the product than Senior Management. Big 4 was never this bad. Very disappointed with the quality of product being produced - a cookie cutter approach with no ability to think outside the box. Just make sure you make it "look good". If you are smart and female, forget about this old boy establish. Old school reins and we are talking the little red school house.

Pros

Great work life balance and overall culture

Cons

Collaboration across solutions is non-existent and controlled by the internal audit MDs. Revenue splitting / sales credit is a constant battle and does not reward employees for working with other individuals as a team. Pay is significantly below market and annual increases are always 3%. Leadership does not understand pay bands outside of the internal audit and strong talent walks out the door after discovering the ins and outs.

Pros

Keep your nose down, play the game, know who the influencers are, kiss their butt and you will do fine. Independent thinking is not valued. So if you can follow the herd and say a few smart sound bites here and there without stepping on toes you will be lauded.

Cons

If you have interesting varied work experience (considering many in Protiviti have only worked at Protiviti or very few jobs in their whole life, so have little practical, market-competitive real life valuable experience) be prepared for your high-value knowledge to be disregarded and often totally discarded to make room for the same old same old egos with a fixed mindset full of themselves. They talk a great game of innovation, but ask who has innovated what and benchmark it!
