Reorganization after reorganization

Pros

The benefits and pay are good. Strong focus on improving patient care and emphasizing that every position exists to improve quality of care and access to care. Since the organization is so large it is fairly easy to change positions.

Cons

Many frequent reorganizations across the enterprise. Some were poorly thought out and thus another reorganization is spawned. Very passive aggressive organization that spends more time talking about issues than taking ownership and solving them. Human resources is very immature and poorly performing for an company of this size. The best opportunity to advance is by aligning or ingratiating yourself with leadership. In many departments performance means little.

Pros

Providence core values. Actually very little spews over to my department. That little bit raises our morale up one millimeter per week

Cons

Horrible horrible Epic team culture. Wave 1 or wave whatever, analysts lack respect towards hospital end users. Too much bad mouthing behind the walls towards their very own customers the MDs RNs MAs PAs techs. NOT the Providence way. Hardly any team cohesion, wayyyy overworked analysts, high turnover. Too many holes, mismanaged projects, total chaos. I'm surprised healthcare regulatory bodies haven't heard of IT mishaps, accidental medical record errors, switcharoos, etc, etc. SERIOUSLY sad

Pros

Good benefits-although they have dwindled in recent hx

Cons

Administration is all about themselves. Not liked or respected by staff or physicians. Disconnedted from staff, gives lip services and general philosophy but no action. LOVES surveys but does not listen to them, LIKES credentials but does not honor them. Need a new medical and nursing director. They've chased their good staff and management away!
