Company Mission Diminishing

Pros

Good work life balance and competitive pay. Everyone is usually respectful of others. A company mission that you can be proud of...

Cons

Senior leadership is constantly making reckless decisions to acquire/merge/affiliate/etc. that negatively impacts the good people making the entire system run. Before things can be stabilized, leadership continues to throw monkey wrenches with more and more mergers and acquisitions. Providence's identity is lost and will continue to be muddled with the St. Joseph merger. Where are the Sisters?

Pros

Convenient location with respect to freeways, parking, lots of growth opportunity if you are willing to work for it and can handle a dysfunctional environment.

Cons

Very uncollaborative environment. Many leaders refuse to work positively with other departments and the line staff are caught in the crosshairs. There are some emotionally abusive managers and those managers are not held accountable for their behavior or their turnover. If anything, they seemed to be rewarded for it. For some in accounting under those managers, it can be a toxic environment. It also seemed to be very common for leaders in finance to blame problems or errors on those below them, when the real issue clearly was leadership. This company desperately needs better leaders.
