Pros

ICU pts are less complex as there is the a regional level II hospital down the road if you are looking for something easier. Very chill vibe - especially on the gen/med floors

Cons

As it is part of a larger system, policies and procedures may not apply or be appropriate for this hospital passed down ICU feels like an IMCU/step down

Pros

Benefits, good pay, numerous training opportunities

Cons

More interested in practicing BJJ on patients than ensuring general safety and security of hospital staff and property. Very cliquey, "good ol boy" men's club vibes. Misogynistic comments, exclusionary behaviors, anti-LGBT+ comments, anti-immigrant comments, crude jokes and conversations very common. More senior officers routinely violate policy. Hostile work environment. Numerous "policies" that are actually security management preference and not officially codified anywhere.
