Pros

- Good benefits - Great co-workers - Friendly work environment - Good work/life balance

Cons

If you're passionate about making impact and contribution to the company's success, you'll be frustrated. If job satisfaction doesn't mean anything to you, this is a great company to work for. - Very top heavy: too many positions that cannot be justified - Very few people doing the actual heavy lifting - Too big for its own good - Runs on inefficiencies - Not willing to change - Your voice will be ignored - That of a very old organization(>100years)

Pros

Salary at high end of industry range

Cons

Churning at mid-level management turned culture Into high stress floundering. Hiring externally from defense contractors, casinos and printer manufacturers (and funding them to build new fiefdoms) has no evidence of improving patient experience. I'm interviewing and first offer, out the door. A shame.

Pros

Very strong dedicated professionals in all areas of the organization.

Cons

Providence is overrun with too many middle managers that clearly causes no employee empowerment or the ability to get things done quickly. The organization spends too much on duplication of roles from having a shared services office but has the same thing in their hospitals. Money is spent with no thought or overall understanding running an enterprise organization, which in reality they are. Rod Hochman drove Swedish into the ground; he has no clue how to run an enterprise organization...yes, the servant leadership is great but you have to live it daily not when it suits you.
