Pros

Proxima is a great place to learn new skills and showcase current skill sets. The client work is challenging and there is opportunity to work on multiple clients in various capacities. Expectations are high because it's not a typical consulting firm. I have been able to take control of my career and foresee a great career path. Taking ownership of your work gets rewarded and showcased. Salary is in line with the work we do. Benefits are good and PTO offering is better than most. The people set this company apart from the rest and truly make it an enjoyable workplace. The ability to share information, offer insights and work collaboratively continues to impress me each day.

Cons

COVID restrictions have prevented our normal monthly company gatherings which has impacted the camaraderie and created some client silos. This has been addressed through adjusting team meeting updates. Going forward as we get back to "normal" and the monthly gatherings start I'm confident the camaraderie will return to better than before.

Pros

None - Salary and benefits appear in line with market until you realize that all positions are viewed as temporary contractors, where management will furlough or terminate entire engagement teams if a client does not renew their SOW

Cons

To say Management overpromises and underdelivers would be a massive understatement. Management is very manipulative, pitching long term growth potential and exciting strategic work. The reality is that Proxima performs internal procurement staff augmentation and short term indirect cost reduction work. They also treat long term and highly rated VPs the same as a first year analyst in that everyone is disposable regardless of performance if it helps cut cost to boost metrics for the Private Equity investors. The majority of the US work is also with two clients and there is significant risk to the future pipeline. Management continues to brag about positive sales leads which seem to never materialize into actual work.

Pros

Not that many - above average salary, high PTO policy (that you won't get to use due to program leads and unrealistic deadlines or expectations), comradery among your peers that are in the trenches with you -- which is dependent on your program and the politicking that those around you are angling for.

Cons

Proxima has an inherent issue that has yet to be addressed - the selling point and headline is "world leading procurement and supply chain consultancy" yet nothing that is achieved or sold is world class. The supply chain practice is in its infancy and has lost key members over the past six-months, client work is sold as strategic and yet most work actually accomplished is very tactical and transactional, and leadership is not in-tune or connected to the employees and their desire for growth.
