-Scripts -Secret shops (ppl higher up making sure your following protocol) -Micromanaged -Poor pay -DMs have favorites -Collection/Auction Calls -Greed -SELL, SELL, SELL! (lock,insurance,merch) This company put a very bad taste in my mouth. I thought highly of PS years ago, but now it's time to move on. Its funny how people that don't work in the store, make all the decisions. One day we're following this policy and 3 months later there's a new policy that is put into place. This company is so greedy when it comes to revenue. If a customer makes a reservation that is unconfirmed, then within 24 hours it goes to advance booking...meaning that a walk in customer could rent the space, even though a reservation has been made. Do you know how many people get agressive? And guess who has to deal with the wrath of an angry customer every single day, but I dont make a single policy? ME We are supposed to tell the customer 'we can hold the price for you but the space isn't guaranteed.' Customer: Then what the was the point of making the reservation? If you don't believe me go to public storage.com right now and make a reservation and don't confirm it. you will receive a voice message and email within 24 hours. It's sad that companies like PS forget about the little man. The one that is actually doing all the work. The one that deals with customers on a daily basis... Face to face, not only by phone. Half the stuff in the office or on the property do not work. It shouldn't take days to get the AC or heat fixed. You want me to do all this work but I'm burning up or freezing to death. You're constantly going to be cleaning up after dirty tenants. I've had a customer that defecate all over the floor/walls. I've had tenants leave food in their units. I've had people leave abandoned goods. Then some tenants will leave the unit full of trash but we can't charge them, if it can fit in the dumpster. So guess who has to clean up someone else's mess...ME! The icing on the cake, is no growth or advancement within the company. The highest position that a property manager can earn is a KTP. The KTP is pretty much the trainer. He/she train's new property managers and the district managers. Yea, KTPs train the boss. The property manager could be with public storage for 15 years and will never be anything higher than a KTP. They will never ever be a district manager, they only hire district managers from outside sources. It would make more sense to hire a KTP as the district manager, especially since they know everything. They don't have to go through the training process, because they already know the basics. Public Storage doesnt care if you have a undergraduates degree, a masters degree, or doctorate... if you are a property manager that's exactly what you'll be. For example, If you've been with PS for seven years and earned your graduates degree (within that seven year span) PS will not increase salary or job title. Most companies look for a loyal employees, but not PS. And then they wonder why the turnover rate is so high. When it's time to go, it's time to go
