Pros
What i love it that the company is truly performance based at all positions of the organization. Each Month , each quarter you are ranked compared to your peers. This allows a individual to come in from the outside and get promoted based off of performance. The company is financially solid. As a fortune 500 company and to have the cash and the debt free balance sheet we are not in the same position of many companies out there that are going through restructures, and layoffs due to declining sells or in debt. I look at the retail companies out there that most of us came from and I see some closing , but most at a minimal are laying people off. Districts are expanding, and job responsibilities are increasing for same pay. Work Life balance for the being the retail world is night and day compared to where I am from. For the most part my phone doesn't ring after 6:00PM. All the property's are closed, all the employees have gone home for the day. There are those one off calls that I will get from a alarm company, and or customer service. If i compare that to the years in my previous career we didn't close until 11:00 and those calls didn't really stop till after 1:00AM This is a very thin organization. To have the ability to have the CEO in my market , or the President riding in my property's yearly is amazing. My divisional manager has been in my market at least 10 times this year. This by some may seem as a con. I see this as a pro. I get to be developed and influenced by the executives of the company often. In my previous career the CEO was never in my market even once. The president was there twice. This was over a 15 year period of time.
Cons
Like most companies i think the insurance cost is out of control. The amount of money I spend to cover myself and my family has climbed each and every year. We all are at work for our family's and to have the burden of paying for the insurance that are above the cost that most of us cannot any longer afford is disappointing . I wish we celebrated more. We do a great job at our annual sales conference of celebrating out top performers. We do a great job of making that week incredible for all of our district managers and above. There needs to be more in our local markets to show our people how amazing they are. A yearly budget should be in place at the regional level to facilitate this
