-low pay for hourly employees makes it hard to attract and sustain retention at this level (the company is happy to keep someone for a year and then is prepared to look for a replacement) -limited ability for hourly employees to advance their career -mileage reimbursement only after miles it takes to get to District mid-point -micromanagement -the company is BEYOND frugal: only reimburse $35 for District a meeting for 20 employees, they literally count paper and expect answers and plans for higher usage, do not perform regular maintenance and instead wait for things to break -DM's have to spend out of their pocket to engage team (company won't reimburse for work lunches or contests) -any spend over $100 needs layers of approvals -DM can make limited decisions in an individual capacity -say they are customer oriented but are not with high rent increases and an unwillingness to decrease unless it escalates to past the RVP -DM's can't even credit $0.01 on a customer's ledger if the system doesn't approve it (everything is routed to another layer of approval) -no employee discounts on a storage unit or merchandise -company is growing however opportunities beyond DM level are not
