Unfair Employment Practices, Discrimination and Unclear and unsupportive work evaluation
Pros
Gained a lot of experience while working on a big client
Cons
There were unfair employment practices towards Lebanese employees, where a senior person specifically said on a call to the whole Lebanese team that we were the only ones exempt from monetary raises and bonuses because we are Lebanese and going through an economic crisis and we should be thankful forgetting paid in US Dollars. Even though the Lebanese have to work in ridiculously difficult circumstances with no electricity, constant economic turmoil no proper internet, in a collapsing economy that is affecting us mentally I voiced my concerns and was met with excuses and no action towards the discriminatory words spoken. 3. We randomly received an email about promotions which surprised me because i did not even go through evaluations. When questioned the basis of these promotions, l expected to receive constructive feedback so I know where need improvement. The answers I received from my direct seniors were that they were surprised about the promotions. And when I took it up with senior management, the response was very vague and unspecified, and they would not go into details about the criteria. When i raised the concern that the culture is not what i expected from a multinational and at this pace talents will leave, and i was not met with any response as well Based on these 2 incidents, I could no longer see my values aligning with that of the company l expected fair employment practices, nondiscrimination and support a clear evaluation of my work, receiving feedback so i can work on my career progression.I did not expect to be made to feel like I should be grateful that I have a job, or that there is a lack of transparency on the evaluation promotion process
