Pros
Publix is an extremely "humane" company. Many of my coworkers brought horror stories of prior employment in IT shops, with 80 hour work week grinds before major releases and upgrades. Meanwhile, Publix maintains a particularly low key approach, with a professional working environment that avoids the modern day IT slave approach.
Cons
The company's corporate and IT headquarters are located in Lakeland, FL, a town with little else going for it besides Publix. Your options for commuting are limited with Tampa and Orlando both being ~45 mins away.
