Pros

Great company culture and nearly every promotion is from within the company all the way up the ladder.

Cons

The pay for the Deli department is half what it should be. The requirements for the job on busy days does not even come close to matching the corresponding low pay.

Pros

If you're seeking a pleasant working atmosphere, there's no place quite like Publix. They've got understanding managers, easy-to-learn training courses, and an overall excellently functioning environment for both shoppers and employees. You're also likely to form acquaintanceships (and maybe later full-on friendships) with a good number of co-workers.

Cons

In my past review, I didn't offer any downsides, but unfortunately, I must state one; the schedule inconsistency. This is most prevalent for employees who have been working at Publix for multiple years. Basing this criticism off my personal experience, there was a sharp increase in shifts for me during the COVID-19 pandemic, and although sanitizing karts and baskets was a stress-inducing job, the feeling of being a contributor to the prevention of a deadly mass-spreading virus' distribution made it worthwhile. However, now that the pandemic is winding down, the scheduling consistency has returned to its pre-pandemic layout; Now, this is probably because I'm part-time, but sometimes I have half a week's (including weekends) worth of shifts and other times I only have 1 or 2 days per week, and sometimes I'm scheduled for shifts that last long enough to include breaks and other times I'm only scheduled for the 4-hour bare minimum. When I'm only scheduled for 1 or 2 days per week and for the 4-hour bare minimum for each of those days, I can't help but feel underappreciated.

Pros

Good pay if you start at the right location, customers are super friendly

Cons

Constant bickering from your co workers, FAVORITISM, little to no room for advancement, high turnover rate, low pay rate increases, management needs a lesson on how to treat their employees as good as they treat their customers, customers at times have to wait a very long time in line because there are not enough employees to help the customers.
