If you have dreams, don't move up in the company.

Pros

Great people, pretty good benefits, stable company. Great job to move up in if you don't mind not having time for family, working almost everyday to meet their expectations, no desire to live in the other 88% of the country.

Cons

If you're in grocery, in my opinion, the pay isn't worth the workload. For a company with such mountain high standards in every area sales, merchandising, cleaning, work speed and ethic, customer service, and organization, you would think they would actually pay their employees better. Sure they pretty good benefits, but nothing really special unless you stay there until you retire. And by then, you're soul has already been drained.

Pros

Weekly pay Holiday pay 401 K plan Benefits (if you work 1000 hours a year) Stock options after 1 year College tuition reimbursement (for majors that you could apply in a position with Publix) If you leave Publix on good terms, you can go back to the position you had Some customers are really sweet Most associates feel like family

Cons

TOO LONG OF A WAIT FOR HEALTH INSURANCE! (1 year) TOOK AWAY RETAIL INVENTORY BONUSES. Low pay (and they don't want me to get another job even though I'm part time) My position is a dead end job (the only way to get full time or a management position is to become a decorator or a baker) Can take YEARS to get full time You have to go to a different store if a full time or management position isn't available in your store Feeling of being unappreciated "It's about who you know, not what you know" to move up If you are only here as a stepping stone while in school or in hopes of getting work elsewhere, be prepared for the guilt that managers will attempt to push on you. "If you put in the time, you can move up". etc..

Pros

They have good insurance. And Mr. George Jenkins is your new god. Shave your head and wear a bowtie and you will definitely get promoted. If you wanted to join a cult then this place is for you.

Cons

Management is a bunch of creepy bald headed dudes. Most managers should probably be registered sex offenders cause thats how they look at you. They took away bonus and blamed it on the employees. They claimed that employees asked for it.
