Pros

Really can't think of any.

Cons

Keep hearing how Publix cares about its associates. How come I am not feeling the love? Oasis time management has put morale in the toilet. Scheduled to close and have to open the following morning. Some of the most unfriendliest management I have ever worked with. This particular location is a revolving door when it comes to workers, no surprise, considering. Some 10 and 11 hour shifts, even at part time. No 15 minute breaks when working 4 hours. Believe that's against the law.

Pros

The possibility of benefits (sure it takes 1500 hours of work in your first year, but, hey...). Flexible schedule (more on this later). Above average pay - for a grocery store that is. Chance of progression IF favored. Tuition assistance (after six months of continuous service). Supposed "Open Door Policy." Whether sincere or not, very friendly environment. Annual automatic raises, typically 50 cents (IF requirements are met). The ability to meet a variety of people. Working there, you never know who you might bump into. The "all round" experience: dealing with a variety of people and personalities and situations, and having to perform a variety of duties.

Cons

Flexible schedule: NO SET SCHEDULES. This means work-life balance to be terrible. Extreme hours: either you're full-time and get 10 hour shifts or you're part-time and get 4 hour shifts. There is really no set hours for part-time workers, sometimes 10, sometimes 39 and anywhere in between. Extremely wide range of duties. If you do not have an open mind about what you would do on the job (i.e. cleaning bathrooms), then this job is not for you .

Pros

They place great great emphasis on teaching employees the value of customer service. The job offers employees a sense of stability. In addition, they are flexible with your availability, They also allow employees to purchase stock in the company, which is solely owned by its workers.

Cons

The amount of hours in addition to the times can vary greatly depending upon the week in which you are working. As new stores consistently open, store level managers are frequently moved to and from different stores across the general area in which it is located as Publix promotes from within. As such, the work environment could change dependent upon the individual's style of management.
