      If you are a good worker, and strive to learn and do you best, you can go as far as you desire.

      Cons

      Trying to get a job at corporate without personally knowing people is difficult, you have to be very very assertive.

      Pros

      I worked for Publix 10 yrs and was initially impressed how they stressed family and work and the importance of balance. Was promoted quickly to full time and then eventually went on to managment. Able to use experience from previous jobs and met some really great co-workers.

      Cons

      Very political If you fit into their mold great if you think outside of it not so good. Management reuires you to sign contract to 50 hr week, and chinese overtime(Every hr over you get paid 1/2 your hrly rate and if over 60 hr 1/4 hrly rate) Company no longer seems to value family first it's all about the bottom line. Customer is always right even when they are not and you pay the piper.

      Pros

      Some of the best benefits you will ever find in a company. You get bonuses every quarter based on the length of time you've worked there. There is limitless opportunities to advance being that the company only hires from within and everyone - EVERYONE - starts from the bottom up, so everyone's been in the same position before.

      Cons

      They are really strict on attendance, which shouldn't be a big con, but most managers aren't flexible when it comes to issues such as illness, car problems, transportation emergencies, etc. Also most of the managers, especially if they've been promoted way too early, have a tendency to either power trip or be very incompetent in their job. Other than that, there aren't that many cons about the company at all.
