      Strange schedules Poor communication with management Upper management only cares about bottom line not employees Management ridicule in public Low pay for duties performed Open door communication policy between Manager and employees poor You never know when you will be working from week to week or what duties you will be performing.

      Pros

      benefits - but only available after 1 year of in indentured servitude. you have to put up with a lot to make it. I understand, the benefits are great and not just anyone should be entitled to them.

      Cons

      It depends on your immediate supervisor. I received little to no training other than to just do it then get harshly corrected when you do it wrong. Pay is pathetic and you don't get raises until 6 months. Expect your first job review - regardless of your performance- to be weak. Customers, knowing company policy of "never say no", for the most part, act like spoiled brats and expect you to fulfill there every request no matter how outrageous or petty. Don't expect a lot of "pleases" and "thank yous" either. Rough job even when you try and rise above it all because the customers basically treat you like crap.

      Pros

      The culture is the best thing about Publix. They give you opportunities to grow in the company. The benefits are great!

      Cons

      The worst part about working at Publix was that I was a cashier. Cashier's have to stand up all day. But I would rather be a casher in an environment like Publix that at any other store.
