Pros

i like working at publix because i am a people person and love to talk and share information with others in the deli i learned about the nutritional values of the products we are selling and i am a boarshead fan and love selling the product as well as our own publix products and i like to see the smiles on the coustmers faces when i can make there visit to our store pleasureable.

Cons

when hired i went to a two day class to prepare me for the job but when i reached the store it was different it seems that the rules and regulations are bent broken or not used in certain stores few people do things the correct way they like there way this is a management problem that reflects on the employees no one wants to address the issue, i think everyone should abide by publix policies

Pros

It's a good pay, you get the employee stock option, quarterly inventory bonus, Christmas bonus, the co-workers are good people, and some of the customers are pretty decent.

Cons

no health coverage for part-timers unless you work an average of 30hrs per week, but at the same time, they have to keep your hrs under 30 in order to keep the system from placing employees on full-time status automatically, major favoritism among management toward certain employees

Pros

As a full time associate, I get more benefits than I did working for Wachovia Bank. I am the "experienced" closing office staff, so I get perks when it comes to my schedule. They are accommodating when it comes to needing time off, and getting vacation does not require much, as far as time. In the 5 years I've been there, I have a nice 401k built, better than anyone else my age (20 years old.)

Cons

They have almost eliminated the back office position, which is less secure in my opinion. In the effort to save the company money, hours have been cut back significantly, which affects the morale of associates. Some managers feel they are better than everyone else, and will make you feel stupid in front of customers.
