      Purdue is a good place to work, but does not reward hard work or achievement outside of the Academy

      Pros

      Decent benefits, though they were better a few years ago. Fair amount of opportunity to advance, but depends on your experience and line of work Positive changes coming from President Daniels that are long overdue Worklife balance is excellent in most areas

      Cons

      Hard work is sometimes rewarded with extra work for others slacking off No real incentive to perform unless to get a different job - many have found a soft spot and have continued in the same position for many years with little to no concern for the job It is not uncommon to find people working simply for the benefits You won't make anything near what you'd make in industry Lots of senior management and few have a clue what work is being done.

      People you get to work with are the best part of the job. Great benefits and great community to raise a family.

      Cons

      No real path to advance your career unless you change jobs. Low salaries compared to other organizations in the state.
