Pros

Purdue is a college town. It has a very friendly small town feel. Living expenses are very affordable. College sports add an electric feel to the area during the fall.

Cons

Purdue is plagued with low diversity and Indiana "values" which are pretty backwards and heavily centered on traditional family units. Socializing primarily happens through churches which has effects that carry over into the work environment heavily.

Pros

Beautiful campus. Noble purpose. Education is not a business, it is not manufacturing, it is not sales. Too bad leadership doesn't understand that fact.

Cons

Worthless chancellor and vice chancellors. No regard for staff. People are fired for little or no reason. This place needs a union. No raises for staff in four years.

Pros

Administrative positions have great vacation and sick leave. People are friendly for the most part and willing to help. There are a lot of activities that they try to get employees to participate in.

Cons

No opportunities for advancement unless you are at/above the level of Dean. It is really hard to get anything working properly and updating technology is almost impossible. No one likes to take responsibility for their actions and it takes a long time to get anything done due to all the paperwork and debating.
