Pros

Constant change - if you like that. Nothing stays the same. Teams change all the time. Office changes all the time. The name of your group, team, and company change regularly. If you like the excitement that accompanies a lot of change, you get it at PwC.

Cons

Long hours, not a meritocracy. Success based almost solely on self-promotion abilities. Every man for himself. Not at all conducive to team work despite propaganda. A lot of arrogance among senior managers, directors and partners - very unjustified. Disfunctional internal management despite the discipline of advising others on the issue.

Pros

Since PwC is an enormous multinational corporation, it's able to provide many benefits and discounts to its employees. The healthcare plans, 401K matching, tuition reimbursement, and life insurrance are just some of the benefits that all employees are granted. Great external benefits include discounts on things like cell phone usage and theater tickets to name a few. And with PwC's particular lines of business it will never be in a bad financial position. Grandiose parties and events are common. PwC even throws a party for the families or its overworked staff. Employees easily can get whatever software, hardware, or supplies they need for their work.

Cons

Politics and cliques. If you're not in a clique shared be a partner or senior manager, you can forget about major promotions or bonuses. This was the over-whelmingly negative aspect of PwC in New York City, but it did not carry over to other branches. There was an enormous amount of competition between staff to be put on the best projects, the top clients, or to performs certain types of work or skills. The staff who was chosen to perform this work was chosen based not on the historical quality of that employee's work, but rather how good of friends they were with the project's manager.

Pros

Great culture; people are generally nice and easy to get along with.

Cons

The Advisory practice is still being built, which would lead one to believe staff would have many kinds of opportunities, but this is not the case. Management only cares about staffing people with relevant professional experience on a specific type of project. In consutling, of course, you need to have relevant professional experience to solve client problems, but is this really the case at a level below manager? Very few managers and above care to do on the job training. So, you're out of luck if you are looking to grow professionally into a different career track or don't have much professional experience.
