Pros

The Flexibility of being able to move to other areas within the firm. This move does not happen immediately but it does happen. Also work/life balance is highly respected. The techincal tax assignments can be very challenging and interesting. You are exposed to numerous issues within finance and tax immediately.

Cons

For employees who have law degrees or graduate degrees and practice Tax, there is an extraordinary amount of administrative work that one has to take care of while also working on technical tax matters. Administrative duties can take up to several hours each day.

Pros

All of the exposure to different industries and different clients. The firm as a whole is great and you really just get an experience unlike any other. You meet people from all walks of life and from so many different backgrounds. Also, the exit opportunities are great. You can be hired out from a client.

Cons

The long hours and no overtime. At many times throughout the year, you have no social life b/c you spend it all in the office.

Pros

PricewaterhouseCoopers is a great place to work for entry level accountants looking to gain a vast amount of knowledge in a short amount of time. I would vouch that PWC is a good place to work for other than entry level, but I would not want to step outside of what I know (being entry level). The atmosphere is also very comfortable to be in, and you will find it very easy to make friends in no time. I don't know where my career will take me, but for now I see no reason that it won't be with PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Cons

It's not so much the downsides of working at PWC, but instead the downsides of being an accountant in general--long hours, busy days, etc. But then again, everybody should know and accept this fact before they puruse this career.
