Pros

- Mostly really good people in the team - Good product and interesting tusks

Cons

the management, really terrible, unoptimized way to lead the people, many of good people in the team are tired and exhausted because of this but don't want to change the job because of the stock options and you can feel it in the air

All the right challenges

Pros

Great product that is well positioned to grab significant market share. Lots of potential to own multiple facets of your role and make them your own. Challenging environment that will push you to grow and succeed. Success is recognized and rewarded.

Cons

It's not a 9-5 environment. The company is remote and global which can make calendars challenging. Plenty of work weeks are more than 40 hours.

A long and slow death

Pros

Great people. Companies aren't families, but at times it felt like this was. They hired a lot of good people, experienced people, just not in leadership. Really good product, prospects/customers saw it and said wow. They keep improving and adding to it. Compensation was good.

Cons

Lack of communication from the board, leadership, across teams. Leadership was very intentional about not being in the spotlight or communicating anything. A lot of easy problems in the org could be solved with some communication. Product market fit. the situations where a company NEEDs Pyramid are so few. They either don't have analytics or they are struggling with the competitors' software so badly that they have to change. This is a nice-to-have product, but not necessary. It's incredibly difficult to get them to switch over, talking years of work to do so, in most enterprise cases. The argument to get them onto Pyramid just doesn't have enough substance for a prospect to move. No market awareness. Lots of marketing effort went into this and years later people still haven't heard of them. Inbound leads, near zero. See product market fit. Pyramid couldn't even support one full time AE with the number of inbound leads. Over-hired in both sales and marketing. Way too many people given the actual sales in the field. Leadership is ok, but not great. Everyone was under-qualified for the job they're doing. Data driven on some things, gut-instinct on others, inconsistent, ignored obvious problems. a lot of decisions that didn't make sense given the situation. Shadiness: things that wouldn't fly at other companies would fly here and be ignored. Paychecks not arriving on time, expenses being paid late, legal issues being swept under the rug. things you willfully ignore at the time but realize too late.
