First and second level management is overstretched to point where they are basically unavailable to subordinates, except for regularly scheduled group meetings. Most software developers have their daily work time tracked by an Orwellian tool called Toggl that management and executives hawkishly monitor without providing much in the way of feedback or disclosure. Management expectations are not clearly communicated until it is too late. Company bends over backwards to ensure that contractors are treated differently than regular employees.
