Pros

Work life balance. Some strong investment teams.

Cons

Completely dysfunctional with senior leadership focused on self interest rather than performance. Operating in a parochial echo chamber. Deeply conflicted.

Pros

They Have good money and investors. Flashy offices fresh fruit, Average coffee monthly drinks

Cons

Not a place for people who are focused on their work. Everything, absolutely everything takes time. Computer access, permissions, replacement of hardware, etc. takes for ever to get approved No proper processes. Arrive early and leave late strategy Top level managers not effective, especially the SharePoint team. No one knows the value of developers and how to utilise them affectively No appreciation for work done

Pros

New coffee machines, flexible working, smart investment teams, stable investor relationships

Cons

IT seems to run QIC. In every other workplace I've been the business teams were the customer and IT delivered. At QIC it seems to be backwards with IT calling the shots and deciding business priorities, regardless of whether it makes sense or not. This might be OK if the could deliver what they promise, but instead they make make us pay Deloitte to tell us things we already know and then sign up for multi-million dollar projects that only do half of what they should. There's a strange relationship between QIC and Deloitte, with QIC choosing to re-hire Deloitte even though they're yet to come close to delivering a project on time or in budget in the 6 years I've been here. I'm sure it's just a coincidence that IT decision makers are ex-Deloitte and Deloitte Directors are ex-QIC Tech management. Nothing to see here!!!
