There are two QNX's

Pros

The people you work with are top notch. Like "keep the entire C and C++ standards in their head" top notch. Use a lot of open source technologies. Promote it too. Low overhead. Good gear. Good Benefits. RRSP matching.

Cons

Owned by Blackberry and going through a painful culture shock and transition. Salaries are low, and they don't even get it. Bonuses are low tied to BlackBerry results. Ultimately there are two QNX's at QNX. One QNX is working directly on BB stuff and the other QNX is working on their old bread-and-butter. And it seems as though the BB side is growing while the old guard are being snuffed out.

Pros

Very professional and experienced co-workers make it an enjoyable place to work. The managers treat their employees well and are respectful of the work life balance.

Cons

The processes are somewhat dated and manual. The software development seems stagnant. Most people work independently so there is not much interaction. There is not much opportunity for advancement.
