Failed Management in Munich

Pros

A unique management to work with bright and sharp minds most of have PhD in RF or related field. The Munich office in particular is specialized in the very niche area of RF acoustic filters (BAW/SAW), which is a very rare and valuable skillset to earn.

Cons

there are no true managers in the office. What this office has are purely technical folks suddenly assuming management roles at the very later part of their career. So they cant manage with a manager's mindset, but rather with a technical mindset. End result is inability to efficiently communicate timelines or priorities of the main office in the US, requiring lots of unnecessary calls with the US teams This means engineers end up working till midnight most of the year.

Interesting work and the compensation.

Cons

Zero loyalty to hard working employees, typical hire and fire mentality. Management are incompetent, completely self interested and only interested in climbing their own ladder. Only time I’ve heard from the ceo is when they are shutting a city down or telling us we didn’t make the cut on bonuses.
