Lost potential

Pros

There are some very smart people working here; nice coworkers, casual culture, flexible work schedule; downtown location, free ORCA card, onsite gym, and financially doing great.

Cons

Not investing in employees' growth or career development, unless you're in certain departments that get anything they want. Double standards. Resistance to change and new ideas, again unless you're one of the favorites. Part of the problem seems to be the parent company in Europe restricting how much profit can be spent to grow the company. As a result, the once-good morale is slipping.

Dying industry and management lacks integrity

Pros

The people there feel like family.

Cons

The bonus plan changes on a whim and it always hurts the employee's pockets. The management there are snakes. This is coming from someone that held a management position there. They micro-manage you to no end and have numbers to discuss the numbers. Aside from the people there, it's not somewhere you want to be. Oh, and the customer service side of the business is ghetto and extremely poor in service.

Pros

People try hard to achieve success without tools, resources or support. People care to do the best. People work hard to overcome internal obstacles

Cons

Plenty of vision and no execution. No resources are allocated to fix the issues - sales and revenue for the short-term All areas of the company work extremely hard to overcome structural problems with no end insight Customer service is not possible when the systems and processes do everything to hurt and hinder your efforts Customer Service starts with knowing your customers
