Pros

Excellent top tier executive vision Great salary and benefits

Cons

NO work/life balance due to too few employees/too much work in many divisions. Ambiguous, conflicting, ever changing guidelines - often you have to make your best guess and you will hear. about it if you guess wrong. Amount of work expected is impossible. Open door policy is policy only. Yes, you can walk in any management door and make suggestions or ask if there is a way to improve an element of the job or state the metrics of the workload but you then become one of the bad guys.

Pros

- medical benefits. - many onsite technology lectures.

Cons

- lower than average compensation in terms of salary and stocks. - too much emphasis on political gains by directors/managers rather than emphasizing on actual engineering work. - nobody is willing to make critical decisions when it comes to risk management and setting priorities. - no specific promotion guideline, it's mostly dependent on personal relationships with upper management rather than actual contributions. - competent engineers keep leaving after getting fed up with too much politics.

Pros

Fair compensation. Great stock plan.

Cons

The business acumen of Qualcomm has not been the same since Rich Sulpizio and Harvey White left. Paul Jacobs is very intelligent but has no business experience outside of Qualcomm. He is a brilliant Products guy (think Steve Jobs) but needs better business operations people below him who can provide leadership and direction to the masses. HR just phones it in. Too many "resting and vesting" at all levels. Senior levels are more concerned with keeping their elite status than building a business and leading the people.
